Alluno v0.9.x: Clients, Control, and Encryption

See exactly who is connected, switch off keyboard, mouse, gamepad or clipboard for a single viewer, kick or ban an account, and stream MoQ end-to-end encrypted.

Alluno v0.9.x is about knowing who is on your machine and deciding what each person can do. The release adds a Clients panel, per-viewer input permissions, end-to-end encryption for the MoQ transport, and a rebuilt interface.

What's New

Clients panel

  • Everyone, at a glance: A new Clients panel lists every viewer connected to the device with their name, avatar, transport, how long they have been connected, and the screen they are currently watching.
  • Kick or ban: Remove a viewer from the session, or ban a signed-in account from the device so it cannot reconnect.

Per-viewer input permissions

  • One viewer at a time: Keyboard, mouse, gamepad and clipboard can each be switched off for a single connected viewer, without disconnecting them or affecting anyone else.
  • Applied immediately: The viewer's screen reflects the change as soon as you make it, so you can hand over the keyboard for a moment and take it back.

End-to-end encryption for MoQ

  • Encrypted in transit: MoQ sessions are now end-to-end encrypted, so relays pass your media through without being able to read it.

A rebuilt interface

  • UI revamp: The desktop app has been rebuilt around the panels you actually use during a session.
  • Connection notifications: A desktop notification tells you when a viewer connects, showing their name and avatar.
  • Launch on login: A new setting under Settings > Startup starts Alluno with your desktop session.

Fixes

  • Drift over long sessions: Fixed the picture falling progressively further behind the host over a long session and pulling audio out of sync. Frame pacing has been reworked.
  • Reconnects: A momentary network drop or a page reload no longer ends a viewer's session outright and forces a full reconnect.
  • Fixed UDP port: Fixed the host failing to come back after Stop then Start when a fixed UDP mux port is set in Network settings. The port was never released on stop, so it could not be rebound.
  • WebRTC ports: Fixed WebRTC mux and ephemeral port handling.
  • FFmpeg 9.0: Bumped FFmpeg from 8.1 to 9.0.
  • Windows: Fixed UAC prompts.

Platform notes

Linux

  • Packages that launch: Fixed the .deb and .rpm packages failing to start on almost any system.
  • Capture permissions at install time: The .deb and .rpm packages now grant the KMS/DRM capability when you install them, instead of raising an authentication prompt on first launch and losing it again on every update.
  • Pointer in the capture: The host's mouse pointer is now included in the captured video on both X11 and KMS/DRM capture.
  • Service mode: Added allunosvc for service mode runtime.

macOS

  • Service mode: Added allunosvc for service mode runtime.

How to Update

Already have Alluno installed?

  • Click update on the UI or right-click the Alluno icon in your system tray
  • Click "Check for Updates"
  • The update will download and install automatically

New to Alluno?

Your settings will be preserved after updating.
